                                Teaching plan  of  Unit 5 Why do you  like  pandas?

                                           Shibajiazi middle school    Zhu  Hongyan

Topic: Describe  animals.

Teaching  Objects:

Knowledge  Object:Learn  the  word  pandakoalagiraffetiger elephantlion”and the expression  why do  you  like   pands?”.

Ability  Object:Talk  about  animals.

Moral   Object: Let   the  students  like  the animals and  protect  them.

Teaching  Importance:

learn  to  use  Why  do you  like  pandas?”

Teaching  Difficulty:

Learn    the  words  and  expressions.

Teaching   Tools:

Recorderpictures.

Step1.

Revision

(6min)

1. Greet the class as usual;

2Five minutes  before  class.

 Four  students  come  to the  front  to  talk  about  how to  make  food.

 

Try to use the present progress  first ,next ,then

and  finaly  ..

This part is the revision of the key structure in Unit5, and also is an extensive activity for the Ss. During this part, the Ss can think and say by themselves, they will be glad to use the knowledge they have learnt, and their creative power will be well trained.

 

 

Step2.

Warming up(6min)

1.     sing  a song .

2.       Teach the new words:

Teacher show the students some pictures of the new animals on the slide, then teach the new words. (2min)

 

 

Sing the song after the recorder

 

The students read and learn the new words on the sly- de.

Make sure the students can get ready for class.

This step is to form a better situation for the students by singing and speaking. They will come into the real

Surrounding of English learn- ing, And it can also review the learnt knowledge for the next step and learn how to use the Internet to study.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step3

Presentation-on

(8min)

 

1. Lead-in (4min)

1).Show Ss the picture of an animal. Ask them:

T: What  is  the animal.

S: Guess.

2).Show other pictures to practice, and then write down the words about the animals on the blackboard.

2. Practice (4min)

1).Show the Ss some pictures of the animas  and the decription wors. Then let them ask and answer in pairs like this:

T: Do you like…?

Yes/No.

Why do you like…?

Because…

 

 

Think them over and answer the teacher’s que-

stations.

T: How is the weather today ?

S:  Sunny.

 

This step aims the students not only at creating expectations and arousing their interest in this text, but also getting ready for talking about   the animals  in pairs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step4

Practice

(16min)

 

1. Section A 1a (2min)

1).Read the words and their Chinese meanings.

2).Ask Ss to match the words

with the pictures (a-f), and check the answers.

2. Listening in 1b (4min)

1). Listen and check the animals you hear in 1a

2).Check the answers.

3.Pairwork in 1c (2min)

4.Group work (8min)

Ask your group members their favourite animals and why.

 

 

Read and grasp the new words.

 

 

Listen carefully and finish 1b.

 

 

 

Use the new sentence pattern to practice in pairs, they must work hard and help each other.

 

Work in four, make sure all of them can make an animal report in group. Choose the best one to act it out in class.

This part is very important of the lesson. The Ss’ abilities of speaking and comma- inaction will be well trained. Encourage the Ss to comma- nicety with the others. They can say loudly and freely. They will feel happy and successful during this part. By way of communication, the Ss will understanding the meaning of the structure better and master the knowledge firmly. It can also well embodied the emotions aims.

Step5

Exercise(6m)

Give Ss some exercises to do in class and ask some Ss to write on the Bb, then check them.

Make sure all the ss can master the new sentence pattern after teaching and pr-

acticing.

Step6

Sum up

(2min)

Use the drills “What animals do you want to see?” and Why do you like them?” on the blackboard to review the key structure.

 

Step7

Homework

(1min)

 

1.Do a  survey about what animals  your parents like and why .

2.Recide 1c

(If necessary, different kinds of students may have different homework. That may be better for different kinds of Ss to master the knowledge.)

It can help the students know about how much they have learned in this period.

三.Blackboard Design:
